Spanish Curriculum

Bienvenue! ¡Bienvenidos!

All pupils entering the school in Year 7 will study either French or Spanish.

Our aim is to instil a fervent passion in our students for learning about and appreciating other cultures, for visiting a range of countries and for learning and speaking other languages.

Our students are equipped with the necessary language skills and knowledge to ensure they are not only ready for their GCSEs but for further language learning either at Key Stage 5 or at university. Furthermore, they are exposed to a wide range of cultural topics which include festivals, celebrations and the arts. This highlights the incredible cultural richness and diversity in both the Spanish and French speaking worlds.

During Key Stage 3, students will learn a wide range of vocabulary and grammatical structures which will establish solid foundations from which to start Key Stage 4.

During Key Stage 4, students will follow AQA’s specification. By delivering a broad, knowledge rich curriculum, every student will reach their full potential and become a confident linguist of the future.
